“Make it simple, but significant”

Hi y’all! I’m Sara Rima! I am a follower of Christ, registered dietitian to be, traveler, foodie, and party planner. I have always had a dream of creating a blog that would encourage, edify and entertain my readers. During the soul searching process of creating this blog I decided that I wanted to highlight areas that I have pursued simplicity in. Life has become so chaotic in the world that we live in today. We wear crowns of busyness that cause us to sleep less, eat more, and trade in our gratitude for discontentment and complacency. My hopes for this blog is to make your life simple, but significant – as the quote says above. Providing resources that can make our lives less chaotic but no less meaningful.

I am so excited to get my blog up and running again! I have always dreamed of having a blog that I can share recipes, party ideas, and general thoughts! One of my passions in life is cooking. I am learning to get away from the scarcity mindset in life and appreciate all gifts. I am excited to announce that I will not only be offering my own recipes but I will be promoting other recipes from magazines, books, blogs, nutrition groups, etc. Part of making your life simple is not keeping all of the resources to myself! So I hope you enjoy the recipes that I make as well as the ones I share.

Registered Dietitian to Be (RD2B)

When I received word that I was accepted into California Polytechnic State University, SLO for their dietetic internship program I realized that I have become very good at being a nutrition student. I know this might sound strange but I have been a resource to dozens of students in my program and students from other universities as well. I am very organized, motivated and curious which has allowed me to tirelessly research the road map to becoming a registered dietitian, contact a variety of nutrition professionals and internship directors, and successfully get matched with a competitive internship program. I will be providing resources for all of you RD2B’s out there who are looking for guidance, advice or a look into the life of a dietetic intern. You can expect to find help with DICAS, volunteering, resumes, personal statements, interviews with other dietetic interns, and much more!

As I was setting up my blog I had this beautiful realization that in a year from now I will be Sara Rima, RD (or RDN whichever I prefer). This is such an exciting accomplishment that will give me the stamp of approval as a nutrition expert. This section of the blog will include nutrition topics such as pro-biotics, exercise, heart health, and more. I am not a registered dietitian yet, so I am very careful not to overstep my bounds and work outside of my scope of practice.

An extremely large part of my life is my faith in Jesus Christ. I have experienced the goodness of God and the struggles that come with life. In this section of the blog I hope to bring the encouragement and edification that I spoke of before. I am only 23-year-old so I definitely don’t have it all together but I hope to share what God puts on my heart with all of you for the purpose of building your faith in a world that seems so far from God’s design.

The travel bug grabbed me when I was met with the opportunity to study abroad in Greece, my sophomore year of college. Since that day I have been obsessed with new places and experiences. I hope to be able to travel outside of California soon but until school is done you will find a lot of weekend adventures along the coast of California.

I come from a family that loves to celebrate….anything! We go over and beyond for birthdays, Christmas, the 4th of July, Valentine’s Day – you name it, there’s party. I have grown up constantly having some sort of celebration to attend. Now that I’m older, I am the one planning the celebrations. I hope to be able to share some of my party planning tips and tricks with all of you along the way!

Thank you for visiting the site and supporting this project. I am excited to be able to aid in creating a simple life that brings meaning and significance to your world. If you would like to partner with me, ask a question, or just leave a comment be sure to check out the contact bar!
